Thirty-eight per cent of employees are dissatisfied with the apprasial process carried out by their employers, according to the 'Performance Management Review', a survey by HR consultancy ETS, which questioned 175,000 people. This rose to 53 per cent for the manufacturing sector.
Companies need to automate performance management - everything from setting objectives to rewarding high performance. This focus should be on achieveing results, not chasing paperwork,
said Dominic Wake, director of ETS and co-author of the report. The research also found that 30 per cent of people are unhappy with the training and development they recieve at work, while 33 per cent are dissatisfied with their career development.
