G4S launches high-tech worldwide staff survey
People management online - February 2011
Real-time reporting tool will reach 625,000 workers
Bespoke system delivered in numerous languages
Security giant G4S has overhauled its global engagement survey, using bespoke technology that will gather data from 120 countries it operates in.
The firm, the second-largest global private-sector employer with 625,000 staff, faces unique challenges in surveying its employees, who are based in customer premises across the world including airports, prisons or sporting events - with many in high-risk or remote locations such as Iraq and Pakistan. Its new system, designed by consultancy ETS, will gather data from workers between February and April this year, will be available in numerous languages and will have options of paper or online completion.
Hannah Stratford, head of business psychology at ETS, adds: "We're excited to be working with G4S to develop their global employee survey. G4S already had a great starting point with a strong set of questions they'd used previously and we have applied our knowledge to meet their brief and develop an entirely bespoke 'ideal world' solution for them. The survey tool created offers in-depth reporting of data, allowing identification of trends and the capacity to compare results with historical data."
